Python Developer

The candidateslav has been working for 4 years as a Python backend developer for a company that makes golf simulators. He has been doing the server backend for making reservations, as well as the ability to pay by card and cash, and he's been working on the ability to actually store the scores that the simulator writes for the 60 sites. He's had 10-15 years of agile development experience, mostly in Scrum, and it's been 12 years in Jira. He leads a 2-person team that he also mentors. His English is at B2 level and he uses it in his daily communication with Americans and English people. His German is at B1 level and so he understands both written and spoken, but would need at least a month to brush up.

August 2017 - Present: Python Backend Developer. Developed a local REST API backend in Python, Flask, and SQLAlchemy for user reservations and payments, serving 60 clients at each site. Created automated API tests using Pytest and Tavern. Developed a global REST API backend for communication between multiple sites, including a booking server with REST API and RabbitMQ message queue. Integrated payment services and migrated server to AWS cloud.

August 2012 - July 2017: C++ Embedded Developer. Developed Linux-based embedded systems for public transportation, including bus driver ticket machines and payment processing using EMV payments from Visa and Mastercard contactless cards. Maintained Windows-based embedded systems for bus and train ticket vending machines, accepting payment cards and coins.

February 2009 - July 2012: C++ Mobile Developer. Developed and maintained mobile applications for Nokia phones, including games, news apps, and office apps, using Qt, C++, QML, JavaScript, and Java.

September 2006 - January 2009: Win32 C++ Developer. Developed and maintained desktop PC applications for computerized radio devices and additional hardware, including standalone apps, plugins, and API creation, using C++ and WinAPI. 2001-2006: Master's Degree from Technical University of Košice, Faculty of Electrotechnics and Informatics, Department of Artificial Intelligence. Master's thesis focused on image preprocessing using neural networks before OCR.
