Linux Administrator

The candidate has been working with Linux and Windows for 17 years. In the past he used to focus on Linux servers more than now, as he switched to VMWare virtualization in the last few years, but he is very close to Linux and feels at home with it. He currently works in the hosting team where they provide infrastructure down to the operating system level, working with Zabbix and sometimes managing databases as well. As the job is for an automotive manufacturing plant, it requires a lot of flexibility and adaptability. The candidate also has experience as a Team Leader - from a project perspective - and is currently part of a team of about 4 people, while they also actively collaborate with foreign teams. He himself says that the job description for this position is not directly gro his activities, but he has a very good overview and learning comes easily to him. From a personality point of view, The candidate is an honest and pleasant person, while he can also admit his own mistakes and when he promises something he keeps his word. He communicates with English on the job and considers the opportunity to use it a plus.

2017 - present: Senior Professional IT Systems - Responsible for global VMWare design and management, including L3 support. Also responsible for global backup design and management, as well as MS SQL support in EMEA. Provides partial regional support for company-developed internal app and manages hosting infrastructure with a focus on EMEA. Manages Windows and Linux OS, primarily Ubuntu and SUSE.

2007 - 2017: System Specialist - Installed and managed servers (Windows, ESXi, Hyper-V, Solaris, Linux). Provided consultancy and problem resolution, and configured and managed switches and routers (Cisco, HP, Linux).

2006 - 2007: Installation Technician - Installed Linux servers and managed packages for a CRM system. Also managed hardware, software, and end user PCs.

2005 - 2006: Server Administrator - Installed and administered Linux and Windows servers, including communication with customers from Slovakia, USA, and Tunisia.

2002 - 2004: Installation Technician - Installed hardware, software, and configured thin clients.
