PHP Developer

Overview

Short Summary

The candidate has been developing for 16 years, and has been focusing on object-oriented programming in PHP for about 10 years. He is currently working with PHP 7 and for the last almost 4 years he has been focusing on Symfony. He is currently working on creating digital archives and also used to work around networks - supervising, configurations as well as designs, while he also has experience with Linux server configuration. In his own words, he knows everything, but he is not an expert in anything. He hasn't written automated tests yet and although he has a little experience with front-end as well, it's not his cup of coffee. Currently he is more or less working as an independent programmer, which is one of the reasons why he is considering a change. He really enjoys working in a team where he can collaborate with other colleagues on an assignment and together create useful solutions and move forward. He usually holds the position of a sort of "pull" in the team, and in the past he also held the position of Team Leader, where he was in charge of a team of about 8 people. He can imagine leading a team in the future if needed. In addition, he also has experience with code reviews.

He currently works part-time at the National Archives of the Czech Republic, and is also a co-founder of the non-profit organization Biolib and CZFree-Net. He is considering a change because he feels that there is nowhere to move in the archive, neither financially nor technologically. He has no problem speaking English, although he has not been actively using it for a long time.

Personally, The candidate is a very communicative team player, he likes to work on things that make sense and he wants to move and develop.
