DevOps Engineer & Java Developer

The candidate is experiencend developer mainly working on solutions for broadband/broadcasting industry. At the moment he consults on projects using Firebase/Polymer/Redux to deliver web/mobile apps for clients. He has experience in defining the architecture, workflow and continuous deployment strategy. Also mentoring other developers in test driven development (as a DevOps). One of his project in the past was work on a project of rebranding the hungarian telecom infrastructure (existing UI) into Vodafone infrastructure. He is senior front end (UI in javascript, Node.js) and used Node.js developer on backend side. He managed teams of frontend engineers, where he delivered backend solutions for several projects (application development) himself, including infrastructural continuous integration through APIs. The knowledge of the sector is his asset, he worked on mentioned broadcasting solutions, their deployment, migrating different source codes, subversions and back tools into backend. His middleware experience incudes knowledge of various messaging platforms and working with external suppliers on its specifications and requirements (Open TV, Nigra). He can script in Java, C and C++ as well.

April 2011 - February 2017: Manager Core Application Development Managed a team of developers delivering core applications (VOD, EPG, etc.) for digital TV set-top boxes. Contributed in various roles including Scrum Master, Technical Lead, and Line Manager. Supported three platforms: legacy OpenTV, JavaScript-based update for legacy set-top boxes, and next-generation HTML5/JavaScript UI for RDK platform. Delivered to local operators in 13 European countries. Worked with external suppliers on specifications and requirements for middleware and interfaces. Maintained and developed shared libraries for internal teams and external suppliers. Conducted R&D and proof of concept applications for digital TV platform capabilities.

June 2008 - April 2011: Application Development Manager Remotely managed a team of developers in London from Amsterdam, delivering applications for digital TV set-top boxes running OpenTV middleware. Responsibilities included maintaining development tools, shared libraries, and conducting R&D and proof of concept applications. Assisted in the development of core UPC UI applications such as VOD and EPG applications.

July 2005 - June 2008: Senior TV Developer Worked as a technical lead, developing video on demand (VOD), radio, minibill, and SNMP notification applications using OpenTV SDK. Worked on a project to create an ETV quiz application and content management system (CMS) for the BBC. Mostly focused on OpenTV and Liberate clients.
