Android Developer

The candidate is a young experienced Android developer who has 8 years of Java experience and has been working with Kotlin for the last almost 3 years. He mainly focuses on the Android platform but would like to work on Flutter so he can develop for iOS platforms as well. He has also used Gradle, C++, Python and SQL in his projects. In his last job he used Scrum and Kanban. Arabic is his native language and he has English and German at a communicative level, so working in a foreign language team is not a problem for him. He is currently mentoring a junior developer and is open to the possibility of a possible leadership position. He does not have a preferred area of work, he is open to every possibility.

11/2016 - Present: Senior Software Engineer (Android) Responsible for Android application development in the ticket shop program. Main tasks include maintaining and adding new features to the mobile ticketing application, adding complex UI elements, and refactoring complex code. The mobile ticketing application facilitates ticket purchase and offers personalized services for users in Austria and Europe. Development is done using Android SDK (Java and Kotlin), Android Studio, and Gradle.

08/2016 - 11/2016: Software Engineer (Android) Involved in Android application development, specifically the mysugr logbook diabetes application. Responsibilities included adding new features, writing unit tests, bug fixing, and code refactoring. Development was done using Android SDK (Java), Kotlin, Android Studio, and Gradle.

02/2015 - 08/2016: Software Engineer (Android) Focused on Android application development, particularly in the field of indoor localization and proximity. Main tasks involved building and maintaining Android mobile localization and proximity SDKs, as well as developing applications based on them. Development was done using Android SDK (Java), some C++ for NDK integration, Android Studio, and Gradle. Also had involvement in backend development.

04/2013 - 01/2015: Software Engineer (Android) Responsibilities included Android application development, building automation tests using MonkeyRunner for test automation, and maintaining mobile advertisement applications and corresponding SDKs. Development was done using Android SDK (Java), SQL, Python, C#, Android Studio, and Eclipse.

09/2012 - 01/2013: Junior Android Developer Focused on developing a payment solution using the Android phone camera for credit card scanning. Main task was to build an Android mobile payment SDK using Android (Java) and Eclipse.

09/2011 - 08/2012: Internship as Software Developer Conducted research on mobile payment solutions for master thesis. Developed an Android mobile payment solution using Android (Java) and Eclipse.

Summer 2010: Junior Teaching Assistant Internship as a junior teaching assistant for an Android development course at the German University in Cairo (GUC), Egypt.

2011-2012: Masters of Science in Software Engineering Completed a Master's degree at Johannes Kepler University Linz (JKU) in Austria. Focused on researching and evaluating mobile payment solutions. Relevant courses included software engineering, mobile computing, pervasive computing, and human-computer interaction.

2006-2011: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering Completed a Bachelor's degree at the German University in Cairo (GUC) in Egypt. Specialized in computer science and engineering, covering basic to advanced courses.

Projects:

• Ablo App: Developed a mobile advertisement app for the lock screen using Android and Java.
• Bizzify: Designed and built the UI for an event tracking and scheduling app. Ongoing project involving modification, feature addition, and branding for different use-cases.
