DevOps Engineer & Linux Administrator

A young developer who has mostly worked as a Linux Administrator, but has three years of commercial experience as a DevOps engineer. In his last position he works as a Linux Administrator and takes care of data migration to the AWS cloud, using Terraform, Ansible for automation and Docker. He has no problem working as part of a team and has also worked in an agile manner, specifically in two-week sprints and retreats. He's had the opportunity to mentor junior colleagues and can offer Czech, English and Russian language skills.

Linux Administrator: 2022 - present

• working as a Linux Administrator in a team of 11 people
• currently involved in a significant migration project, moving on-premises infrastructure and applications to the cloud
• utilizes Terraform for this transition, with a focus on improving versatility and high availability
• manages Single-Sign-On, Identity and Access Management solutions and implements automation and infrastructure-as-a-code solutions

DevOps Engineer: 2019-2022

• developed, implemented, and maintained complex infrastructure patterns across various projects
• worked within a team of three, primarily using Terraform with various cloud providers, such as AWS, Azure, and GCP
• actively contributed to two large projects that spanned up to a year of development, as well as multiple smaller projects
• played a vital role in automating code delivery and integration processes and provided support for legacy infrastructure, involving automation with Ansible, monitoring with Grafana, upgrades, patching, and incident response
• established secure communication channels to safeguard company data and ensure business operations

Linux Administrator: 2017-2018

• responsible for migrating various applications and tools into Docker containers
• updated and maintained shell scripts for backups and API calls
• implemented, configured, and maintained monitoring solutions for both on-premises and cloud infrastructure

• participated in various projects where he designed, implemented, maintained, and supported hosting environments, including websites, CRMs, and email servers. These projects served approximately 30 customers of various sizes and budgets
• involved in network operations, which encompassed monitoring, incident resolution, and troubleshooting

System Administrator: 2015-2016

• participating in a project to create an all-in-one Point-of-Sales device for a betting company
• built an OS image to be used on the POS with specific software and hardware requirements
• assembled hardware and imaged disks with pre-built OS for around 450 devices
• assisted with after-sale technical support for the POS devices
• involved in office operations, focusing on wired and wireless networking, as well as server maintenance

System Administrator: 2011-2014

• worked as part of a three-person team responsible for managing network equipment maintenance, upgrades, and replacements for approximately 1,000 customer endpoints
• installed and configured network equipment, such as Mikrotik and Ubiquity devices, and took part in network operations, including monitoring, incident resolution, and troubleshooting
• conducted customer hardware repairs, OS installations, and other related tasks

System Administrator and Community Manager: 2010-2012

• as a trainee
• assumed various responsibilities, including maintaining the college's official website, managing patching, upgrades, and content using CMS Joomla and LAMP stack
• played a role in handling the technical aspects of conferences, concerts, and events, involving audio and video equipment
• managed hardware repairs, orders, and installations, and later participated in maintaining wired and wireless network segments, re-wiring server rooms, and performing maintenance tasks.
