Architect & C++ Developer

Overview

Short Summary

The candidate has been working as an embedded engineer for 8 years. He helped design and develop several low-power, battery-powered, BLE devices, including a smart lock. Most of the time, he was working as the single embedded developer in the team, so he was duty-bound to learn new technologies fast to make progress - understanding the protocols, MCU architecture and IC datasheets, writing bootloaders, debugging with the laboratory equipment, etc. During hi career, there was a lot of prototyping and experimenting with different technologies (sensors, Bluetooth LE, 125kHz wireless transmission, various microcontrollers and SoCs, embedded Linux, etc). He was also designing his own PCBs with Altium, ordering prototypes, soldering, bringing the system up, etc. The project he is most proud of is the prototype he built, which was a miniature PCB with a DA14580 BLE SoC, which featured many sensors we needed for a dive computer. This system was fixed to the strap of an Android Wear watch - and they communicated via BLE (it worked up to 3-4 cm underwater). This was the first smart dive watch. In 2021, he was approached by a former boss, with the proposition to open a company together. The intent was to develop a solid-state oxygen sensor, a dive computer and life-support equipment (rebreather). He is also used to work in an agile environment in Kanban and Scrum. He speaks fluent English.
