Short Summary
IT infrastructure manager with 15 years of experience in IT. He is currently working as a Cloud operation engineer, specifically working with the infrastructure. He has experience working in an agile environment. He is fluent in English. The area of security is very interesting for him and he would like to work in it.
Work Experience
IT Cloud Operations Engineer Dates November 2021 – Current
- Operates on-premise OpenStack, Microsoft Azure, and VMware vSphere infrastructure, Red Hat OpenShift, and Kubernetes clusters running in Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and on-premise OpenStack implementations.
- Ensures that customer projects run smoothly, with correct DNS domains, firewall permissions, and proper IP addresses, and guides DevOps setup for IT operations side.
- Sets up, manages, and operates HashiCorp Vault instances to dynamically manage secrets used in OpenShift projects and CICD pipelines.
- Writes, manages, and pushes HCL Terraform scripts and Ansible playbooks in Bitbucket to provision OpenShift, GKE, and AKS clusters in Microsoft Azure and GCP Cloud Environments.
- Implements enterprise monitoring tools, such as Dynatrace and Prometheus, to monitor availability and optimize the performance of web applications as well as operating systems.
IT Infrastructure & Network Manager Dates: June 2009 – October 2021
- Managed a team of system and network engineers, network technicians, and IT support staff, responsible for delivering a customer-focused, robust, high-quality, and secure Cisco and Ruckus Wireless Network and Data Centre Physical and Virtual Infrastructure.
- Provided the highest level of management, top-level technical support, and customer service to the University of Zimbabwe’s students, faculty, staff, academic institutions, and private businesses in Zimbabwe.
- Managed and implemented various IT infrastructure projects, including setting up Oracle (RAC) clusters and Linux server clusters using GFS2, migrating university email to Microsoft Office365 for all staff, and migrating students to Google Workspace.
- Managed the Ruckus Wireless project for the Campus Wireless infrastructure implementation for the University within two months’ deadline and within a $140,000 budget.
- Headed the implementation of DevOps adoption , driving infrastructure automation of Cisco devices and Linux servers using Ansible, NETCONF, RESTCONF, YANG, and Terraform.
