• Each client was served by own server threads, with concurrent storing/adding, removing/purging and searching/statistics synchronized by mutex locks to ensure thread safety.
• Built a partitioned file-based database organised by feeds and timestamps to optimize data retrieval speeds, plus custom binary serialization of text messages to minimize data size on disk.
• Created utilities for offline database migration from old format to compressed format, database versioning for backward compatibility, and a config file to manage parameters of database (feeds, file sizes, history, threads per request).
• Developed tools for spam processing and analysis for analysts (python / C), maintained an existing C/C++ SPF utility, and used valgrind to detect leaks, dangling pointers, invalid reads/writes, invalid free, and double free.
• Built a system (scripts in python) to collect / update / analyze / evaluate DNS reverse records for the entire IPv4 address space (about 4.3 billion records) using asyncio, multiprocessing and pickle, handling thousands of concurrent queries and parallel data update and evaluation.
